Connection is magic.
I grew up around weddings as a kid when my mother worked for a florist and was constantly taking me to drop off bouquets or center pieces. I found myself so fascinated with them and the love that made it capable for them to happen.
Shot lists are great but I always thought that somewhere outside of them is where the magic happens. Capturing a moment you weren’t expecting, something special but in the same breath almost mundane. The simple every day gestures that brought you two here. So that when you look at this photo the whole day can come rushing back.
Based on Martha’s Vineyard, I have been shooting weddings since 2019 and have been able to work and learn with some of the most special photographers on this island such as Elizabeth Cecil, Lucy Cuneo, Larisa Stinga and Jessica K. Feidan. Starting off as a second shooter has been so important to me and to how I view weddings. To be looking for a different perspective on the traditional portrait, the alternate view point has resulted in all of my favorite photographs.
Natural light, real colors and tones, and a good black & white is my go-to color palate. I shoot in a combination of digital and film meaning I’m always ready to capture the perfect moments that seem to go by so fast and the ones that are so soft and marked with slow-motion magic.
